Yesterday was full of fun and relaxing but not big on the adventure scale. We took a long walk around the park trying to find a more shady spot but they are in short supply and high demand. The only other option we found was a site in the woods. Sounds lovely. It’s shaded all the time and quite private. Sounding better? It’s also much closer to the pool, potty/shower house and the lodge. Sounds perfect!! Unless you’re the one that has to drive this beast into the woods and God forbid back it out!! So we’re staying right where we are. We did some unpacking and set up. Tried hooking up the hot spot for our Sprint phones…tried… We can get signal if we stand in one place and don’t move otherwise we’re still roaming. Grrr. So we’ll be reactivating the burn phone from ATT on Monday to stay connected with everyone.
After we cooled down from all that walking and running to set things up we had a bite of lunch and headed for the pool. It didn’t disappoint!! I nice cool 60 degrees when it’s 110 degrees outside is heavenly!! We didn’t stay long, a lot of kids playing and the sun was on us full blast. When we noticed Chris’ shoulders getting pink it was time to go. For me, well, I’m so tan now it doesn’t affect me but Mr isn’t and a sunburn isn’t on our list of fun things to do. So we headed home, checked on the kids AC (damp towels on the floor for them to lay on. It helps immensely!! No more panting!!) and decided to take a little nap ourselves. We blinked and 2 hours had went by. Time for some dinner!! Steaks on the BBQ and potato salad, Yum!!
Then we were off to the Texas Hold Em game in the Rec Center. It’s been awhile since we played in Idaho. We knew we’d be a little rusty but it’d be fun anywho!! There were 8 of us total so a nice full table!! It didn’t take long before it was like old times and we were all laughing it up, talking shit and having a blast. We played decent, Ed would have been proud of the stunts we pulled with these guys & gals!! But the best part of the whole game was thanks to Chris.,.. Of course!! It was early in the game once we all loosen up. We’re all in the pot, nice family pot and the flop comes out. 3 5 7. Chris pipes up when it’s his turn that he has to bet because they’re all prime numbers… And the table roared!! For the remainder of the game Chris was teased about being the mathematician and called PrimeTime. So, Ed & Liz, next time we play you’re gonna have the wraith of PrimeTime on ya!! Maybe it’s something you had to be there for, not sure, but it was hilarious!! Trust me!! We had a ball!!
Today we are getting back into our adventure mode. Going to the farmers market in Glen Rose first and walking the square when all the cool little shops should be open. Then we’re either river ratting behind the campground or going on the Wildlife Safari or trying our hand at geocaching or maybe all three!! We need to get our and explore it’s been a few days and we’re getting itchy again. Trying new things, seeing new things, learning, exploring, going new places – It’s Addictive!! Oh how I love a good adventure!!
