Time to get picture crazy!! Miss Yolanda requested more pics of the campground so here we go…

This is the outdoor pavilion here. They have movie night on the weekend and live entertainment occasionally too.

This is the lodge with the barrel ceiling. This is where the potluck was and the weekend steak dinners and breakfasts are.
So, Chris made the most amazing Cajun Chicken salads for dinner!! So so good!! Well, see for yourself…

And the results… Cajun Chicken salad with tomatoes, cucumbers, red onion, green peppers, mushrooms and avocado. YUMMMM

These are the fresh veges I added to the foil packs we had last night with chicken. Green Peppers, Garlic, Red Onion, Yellow Squash, Zucchini and Mushrooms!! I just added a little balsamic vinegar to mine with black pepper. Delish!! I added BBQ Sauce to Chris’ and he raved. The smell from the grill was heavenly!!

Chris snapped this one this morning while I was getting ready…not even done with my face paint but oh well…
Couldn’t have a picture post without at least one of the kids showcased!! And Pinks is the ham of the family so it only seems fitting.
Now we can have an update. TeeHee.
Let’s see… Yesterday we hid the majority of the day. Hid from all the people, tried (unsuccessfully) to hide from the heat and Chris hid from his migraine. Thankfully it never returned but we did have the hangover to content with. We did wander down to the pool later in the day. It had cleared out nicely but the sun was really intense. We stayed for exactly a half an hour which was 30 mins too long apparently because Chris’ shoulders blistered. I’ve never seen anything like it!! His shoulders are barely pink and now it looks like his skin was boiled from the inside. He says it’s the Scottish in him. Thankfully it is much better today with the help of a bunch of aloe and NO pool. It sucked not to be able to jump in with the 106 degree heat but it’s a necessary evil. We’re hoping one more day of abstinence will do the trick so long as he wears his sunscreen religiously from now on!! So instead of swimming our over heated troubles away we hung out in the Rec Center and watched some TV and played some pool. I’m getting better but still no match for Chris. Fun nonetheless. We did venture into the bigger town of Grandberry this morning to pick up some supplies a the Super Walmart and get a much-needed oil change on Big Red. The Walmart was a mad house!! Swarms of people everywhere. I couldn’t imagine why until a little old lady in a scooter said something about it always being crazy the first of the month. We just looked at each other, mentally slapped ourselves in the forehead and made it as quick as possible!! Forgetting important items in the process of course. Doesn’t really matter though because the prices weren’t that much better there than in the little Glen Rose grocery store. Oh well, at least we tried. We rewarded ourselves with a Starbucks after…only our 2nd one since leaving the gate!! But now we know where one is so we might be in trouble….
We’ve finally made our decision on our next job and location. All the info on that in the morning!
Nighty Night.
Madcap Out!!

Wow! What a great little camp ground.. I like the looks of the pool. I can see why all the families in the area want to hang out there on the weekends. The BBQ chicken salad looks delish! Thanks for the update.
Thanks for helping out, good information. “Courage comes and goes. Hold on for the next supply.” by Vicki Baum.
