Mission Complete

Chris has completed his Amazon commitment. A little surprising to us but last night was the grand finale. He’s now free to enjoy a little down time that he definitely earned!! I’ll be tallying the mileage totals for his final month and overall Amazon experience soon. I’m curious to see if he made it to the 300 mile mark in the last month. I’m sure I have lots of tallying to do…just can’t think of everything right now.

Heads spinning a little bit… We really weren’t expecting to be done today. We thought Sunday at the earliest. Now we have to be out of the park tomorrow or start ponying up the dough. We weren’t expecting that…we were figuring we had until Tuesday. Are we prepared? No! Are we ready? Yes and No… Do we want to get outta here? HELL YES!! Are we ready to do that? HELL NO!! Do I sound anxious? Well I am…just a little… First things first – Today is a car day. We’re up this early to have as much daylight as possible to work on her. That and to start the schedule flip back to ‘normal’ hours. Gotta get her running before running away is an option. Seriously, we have a 10 hours/650 mile drive to San Antonio in front of us that she has to make. That ain’t nothin to sneeze at!! If we can’t revive her then she’ll have to go to the car shop after Christmas and we’ll figure the rest out from there. One day at a time.

At least while we’re out working on Red we’ll get to watch this place start the empty out process. People are going to be flying outta here right and left today and tomorrow.

**Today I’m grateful to have Chris back. Those long nights were hard on me and now I don’t have to do ’em any more!!

With Much Love

  1. Hi guys, Hopefully I can get this to go through. I’ve had problems commenting on blogs… Just wanted to let you know that we heard from Michael that we CAN work on Sunday if we want. Just wanted to be sure you got the word.

Merry Christmas and it was great meeting you here at Amazon.

  2. Wow! What an abrupt end to the Amazon adventure! I’m glad you’ve got Chris back — and crossing my fingers that he can get the car fixed without it having to go to the shop.

Onward and upward! Wishing you both all the very best! And I do hope you manage to have a very special Christmas Day, even if it didn’t work out the way you had hoped.

  3. Congrats on the completion!! Last night was the last night here as well, but we are staying into January so it wasn’t really our last night. It has been a long haul, and it feels wierd that it is ending. How fast time does go. Happy travels to you!!!
